The VLM Difference
Our base cleaning uses VLM — Very Low Moisture cleaning. It's the modern, fiber-safe way to clean carpet and upholstery: deep results, minimal water, and a home you can walk on within hours.
What is VLM?
VLM (Very Low Moisture) cleaning applies a professional prespray to break down soil, works it into the fibers with gentle agitation, then lifts it away using specialized low-moisture equipment. Instead of flooding your carpet with hot water, VLM cleans with controlled moisture — so the carpet is never soaked through.
The result is a deep, even clean with a fraction of the drying time, and none of the risks that come with saturating a carpet.
Why we love it
Dry in about 1–2 hours
Traditional steam cleaning can leave carpets damp for a day or more. VLM uses a fraction of the water, so your rooms are back in use the same day.
A fraction of the water
Low moisture means no soaking. That dramatically lowers the risk of wicking, shrinkage, and backing delamination.
Eco-safe and no residue
We use non-toxic, biodegradable presprays and minimal moisture, leaving behind no sticky chemical residue to attract new dirt.
Gentle on delicate fibers
VLM is the safer choice for wool, wool blends, and fine upholstery — fibers that can be stressed by heavy water and heat.
Fresh, clean air
Less humidity in your home means no damp, musty smell while carpets dry.
Ideal for regular upkeep
VLM keeps regularly maintained carpets looking and feeling fresh with minimal disruption.
The one important limitation
VLM is outstanding for maintenance cleaning — but it is not a heavy-restoration method. Because it uses very little water, it cannot fully flush out soiling that has soaked deep into the carpet backing.
For heavily soiled carpets, hot water extraction is recommended.
